The last time I had a house with a backyard the previous owner had let the lawn grow wild and didn't mow it. The resulting influx of wildlife was fascinating, so I kept it that way. If I ever have a large yard again I intend to cultivate local plants instead of maintaining a traditional and barren lawn. Is there a term for the style of yard maintenance I desire? It needs to become fashionable.

One not-so-nice way of putting the stencil where someone caring for a lawn could see it would be to stencil it on the lawn with an herbicide.

A much nicer alternative would be to grow different colored plants on your own lawn so that they spell out the message. But you'd need a large, readily visible lawn for that, so hopefully some college or university grounds keeper is reading this.

Those little stickers are indeed very annoying. They aren't biodegradable, and they stick to your fingers. Hopefully some day they will be replaced by edible ink.

I guess it's too late to dig down and remove the root that is strangling the tree. Hopefully the next time they install trees they will find some way to insure that the root balls are scored before the trees are put in the ground.

Especially their chicken sausage. I used to be addicted to the chicken sausage from the Wedge and then they changed the spice mix and it became salty. I went 2 years with mediocre sausage until I tried John's sausage. Their Tuscan sausage and their North Woods blueberry sausage are both to die for. We use pounds of it - not to mention the chickens, flank steaks, hams, etc that they sell. Thanks for posting this - I was looking to see if they had a website since we are now putting in special orders each week. Great meat and great customer service!
