Thanksgiving.

One of the things I’m glad for today is ice water. I’m fortunate not to be one of the 1.1 billion people across the globe this year who didn’t have access to clean drinking water, or one of the 1.8 million people who died from a water transmitted illness.

Crossed Wires

What a strange thing to do to a tree.

Go into a forest, cut it down, strip it bare, soak it in pentachlorophenol, drag it into the city, fix it in the ground and then drape dangerous wires and buzzing street lamps all over it.

11-v4-blog

A couple weeks ago I did a posting on found money. 10 bucks. Two days later I found another crisp dollar bill on the sidewalk a few blocks away. 11 bucks. Let’s say I could manage to apply myself and search high and low for lost money, bringing in that same tally each week. That would be an annual income of $572.00.

Not unreasonable really.

That would give me an annual income which exceeds the averages of people in Zimbabwe, Congo, Burundi and Liberia.

If I pounded the pavement extra hard and scared up $20.00 each week, I’d then surpass the average incomes of 12 more countries, including Afghanistan, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Nepal.

Coincidence

What a crazy coincidence seeing how well these two corporate logos work in the same place at the same time. A purveyor of deep fried fast foods and a service industry dedicated to the extermination of unwanted insects and rodents.

Hmm.

Now how about a couple of fun facts:

Did you know that there were 36,292 KFC franchises worldwide as of last year?

Did you know that KFC is a branch of “Yum! Restaurants” (no, that is not a joke) which posted a net profit in 2008 of 964 million dollars!
